Jane's Notes: I composed the honeyeater with its head turned, looking for a flower to feed on, for the express purpose of showing off those subtle, wispy white throat feathers. The black streaking on its breast and flanks make for a striking graphic look. As the sole representative of Tasmania, I anchored him to the ground rather than a perch to serve as the period to Australia’s exclamation point.
