Jane’s Notes: Standing in the heart of Africa—the heart of the mural—the Shoebill is a celebration of the beautiful and bizarre. Standing up to four-and-a-half feet tall and wielding a heavy, sharp beak, the Shoebill has no shortage of unusual and defining characteristics. In drawing the study, the most exciting characteristic to me as an artist was the Shoebill's defined feather structure. Often many feather groups in the subjects I painted blended in without sharp definition, so I felt energized to create a drawing with a focus on feathers.
Each study comes with a certificate of authenticity. Please allow six weeks for custom matting and delivery. Limit two studies per household, please. All sales final.
