Jane's Notes: It may come as no surprise that there was a heated debate about which bird to choose to represent Papua New Guinea’s birds-of-paradise. Ultimately, we chose the King-of-Saxony for its feathery “antenna’s,” a structure found nowhere else in the bird world. I embraced novelty wherever I found it in the mural and had the opportunity to study, in person, a King-of-Saxony specimen from the lab’s collection, allowing me to examine the structure and number of the feather tabs and the colorful inside of its mouth.
Each study comes with a certificate of authenticity. Please allow six weeks for custom matting and delivery. All sales final.
